1. The input air pressure is too high:
If the input air pressure is greater than 0.45MPa, the air flow with excessive pressure will blow away the concentrated arc column after the formation of the plasma arc, which will disperse the energy of the arc column and weaken the cutting strength of the plasma arc. The main reasons for high air pressure are: improper adjustment of the air compressor, excessive adjustment of the air filter pressure reducing valve, or failure of the air filter pressure reducing valve.

Check whether the pressure regulation of the air compressor is properly adjusted, and confirm whether the pressure of the air compressor is consistent with the pressure of the air filter pressure reducing valve. When the air compressor is running, adjust the regulating switch of the air filter pressure reducing valve. If there is no change in the barometer, it means that the air filter pressure reducing valve is out of order and should be replaced in time.
2. The input air pressure is too low:
When the CNC plasma cutting machine is working, if the input air pressure is far lower than the air pressure required by the equipment, the spraying speed of the plasma arc will be reduced. If the flow of the input air is less than the specified value, the high-energy and high-speed plasma arc cannot be formed, which will cause the problems of poor quality of the incision, impermeable cutting, and slag accumulation. The causes of insufficient air pressure are generally insufficient air input from the air compressor, low pressure regulation of the air regulating valve, blockage in the solenoid valve, and blocked air path.

Before cutting, pay attention to check the output pressure display of the air compressor. If it does not meet the requirements, adjust the pressure setting or repair the air compressor. If the input air pressure is required, check whether the pressure adjustment of the air filter pressure reducing valve is correct and whether the pressure display of the air pressure gauge meets the cutting requirements. Otherwise, maintain the air filter pressure reducing valve to ensure that the input air is dry and free of oil contamination. The poor quality of the input air will cause oil contamination in the solenoid valve, making it difficult to open the valve core and the valve port cannot be fully opened.
3. Poor contact of ground wire:
Grounding is an essential preparation for CNC cutting machine. Failure to use special grounding tools, insulation on the surface of the workpiece or aging of the ground wire will lead to poor contact of the ground wire.

Use special grounding tools and check whether the ground wire is in good contact with the workpiece. Do not use aging ground wire.
4. The cutting nozzle and electrode are damaged:
If the cutting nozzle is improperly installed, not tightened, or the water-cooled cutting torch is not connected to the cooling system, the loss of the cutting nozzle will increase. (Recommended reading: the indicator light of the plasma cutting machine may not light up for three reasons)

Adjust the correct gear of the equipment according to the relevant parameters of the cutting workpiece, and check whether the cutting torch and cutting nozzle are firmly installed; The water-cooled cutting torch shall circulate the cooling water in advance.
5. The spark generator cannot automatically break the arc:
When the plasma cutting machine is working, it needs to ignite the plasma arc. The gas between the electrode and the inner wall of the cutting nozzle is excited by the high-frequency oscillator, which generates high-frequency discharge to partially ionize the gas and form a small arc. At this time, the small arc is ejected from the cutting nozzle by the compressed air, which is the main role of the spark generator. The working time of the spark generator is generally only 0.5~1s. The reason why the spark generator cannot automatically break the arc is that the related components of the control circuit board are misadjusted and the discharge electrode gap of the spark generator is inappropriate.

The discharge electrode of the spark generator shall be checked frequently to keep its surface flat, and the discharge electrode gap of the spark generator shall be adjusted timely, generally 0.8-1.2mm.
6. Input voltage too low:
There are large electrical facilities around the use site of the plasma cutting machine or the main circuit components inside the cutting machine are faulty, which will cause the input voltage to be too low.

Check whether the power grid connected to the plasma cutting machine has sufficient bearing capacity, whether the voltage is stable, and whether the specification of the power line meets the requirements. The working site of plasma cutting machine shall be far away from large electrical equipment and places with frequent electrical interference. During the use, the dust in the cutting machine and the dirt on the components shall be cleaned regularly, and the wires shall be checked for aging.
