Modular 3D Flexible Steel Platform

A typical modular 3D flexible fixture system consists of the following major categories of components:

Base Platform:

Grid Plate: This is the foundation of the entire system. It is usually a high-strength cast iron or steel platform with a standard array of holes (such as 28mm diameter round holes or 16mm square holes). These holes are arranged at precise intervals (such as 100mm or 50mm) for installing all other components.

Profile Frame: Sometimes the platform itself is constructed from standardized aluminum or steel profiles, providing a larger overall size and greater flexibility.

Locating Elements:

Pins: Inserted into the platform holes to determine the position of the workpiece on the 2D plane (X-Y axis).

Blocks: Precision blocks of various shapes and sizes with threaded holes or pin holes, used to construct support and locating surfaces.

V-Blocks: Used for accurately clamping and locating cylindrical workpieces.

Clamping Elements:

Clamps: Various manual, pneumatic, or hydraulic quick clamps used to firmly secure the workpiece to the locating elements.

Bolts/Nuts: Special high-strength fasteners used to lock each component into the platform's hole system.

Connecting Elements:

Dowels: Used for precise positioning and connection between components.

T-Bolts: Specifically designed to fit into the T-slots of the platform (if any) or to be fixed in the hole system in conjunction with nuts.

Angle Connectors: Used to construct stable frame structures in 3D space.

Auxiliary Elements:

Support Feet: With leveling function to ensure the platform is level.

Tool Carts: Used for storing and moving a large number of components.

Measuring Tools: Specialized rulers and gauges for quickly and accurately setting component positions.
