Workbench Surface

Material: Typically made of high-strength cast iron or high-quality steel, subjected to stress relief treatment and precision machining to ensure long-term stability and high flatness.

Hole System: The workbench surface is covered with standardized grid holes arranged at equal intervals of 28mm. These are not ordinary through-holes but precisely machined counterbores, designed to fit with the heads of special bolts.

Surface Treatment: The working surface is usually subjected to anti-rust treatment, such as blackening, galvanizing, or oil coating, to adapt to the harsh environment of welding workshops.

Positioning and Locking Mechanism

Special Locating Pins and Bolts: The system uses 28mm-diameter flat supports or positioning blocks as the foundation. At the bottom, there is a precise cylindrical pin that can be inserted into any Φ28mm grid hole on the workbench surface to achieve quick initial positioning.

Tapered Wedge Locking: This is the essence of the D28 system. After inserting the locating pin, a special tapered wedge locking pin is driven in from the side. Using the inclined surface structure, it completely eliminates the tiny gap between the positioning block and the platform hole and generates a huge locking force. This design ensures high rigidity of the connection and high repeat positioning accuracy (usually up to ±0.1mm or higher), capable of resisting thermal deformation and stress during the welding process.
