2. Adjustable-height outriggers (Lemar standard type)
This is the most widely used type, which realizes the horizontal calibration of the platform by integrating an adjustment mechanism at the bottom or inside of the outriggers.
• Adjustment methods:
◦ Bolt adjustment: There is a large adjusting bolt (anchor bolt) at the bottom of the outrigger. By rotating the bolt, the height of the outrigger can be finely adjusted, thereby accurately adjusting the level of the platform. This is the most classic and reliable way.
◦ Wedge block adjustment: In some designs, fine adjustment is achieved by tapping the wedge block, which is also used for leveling.
• Characteristics: Essential function. It can compensate for ground unevenness and ensure the installation level of the platform, which is the basis for ensuring welding accuracy.
• Application scenarios: Almost all installation scenarios, especially workshops with slightly uneven ground.
3. Outriggers with moving function
To meet the flexible layout of the production line, some outriggers will be integrated with moving devices.
• Structure: Usually, universal wheels or casters are installed at the bottom of one outrigger, while other outriggers are equipped with directional wheels or lifting devices.
• Working modes:
◦ Moving mode: The entire platform is lifted by a lifting mechanism or a screw, so that the casters touch the ground, and it can be moved easily.
◦ Working mode: Lower the platform so that the solid outrigger base (or leveling bolt) is firmly pressed on the ground. At this time, the casters are suspended, and the platform is as stable as a fixed installation, effectively eliminating vibration and shaking.
• Characteristics: Greatly enhance the flexibility of the platform, suitable for workshops that need to frequently adjust the layout of workstations.
